David Tirado

Chief Commercial Officer, Revolut

David Tirado is Chief Commercial Officer at Revolut, where he leads the company’s commercial practice as a Group Exco Member, reporting directly to the founder. Tirado also became a Revolut Partner in 2022. With full responsibility for Revolut’s P&L KPIs, he drives key metrics like Gross Profit margin and Operational Leverage, ensuring profitability and sustainable growth across the organization and is part of the New Bets committee to create new business lines across the organization.

In his role, Tirado leads teams of over 70 professionals across 15 Commercial and Business Development functions, overseeing new revenue-generating and cost optimization initiatives across various verticals, including Premium, Treasury, Financial Institutions, Core Payments, Crypto, Card Payments, Acquiring, Growth, Savings, Loyalty, Wealth & Trading, Open Banking, and Business. His leadership and strategic guidance have been central to building and scaling revenue streams, supporting Revolut’s growth from US$100 million to over US$2 billion in revenue, and driving the profitability of the company achieving a US$400M+ net income as well as scaling new Business lines and products like Ultra, eSIM, lifestyle or acquiring.

With over a decade of P&L management experience, David has a strong background in both up-scaler environments like Revolut and other stat-ups and established multinationals, including Vodafone and Motorola leading different product lines. His expertise spans commercial operations, business development, and product leadership, along with successfully managing diverse, cross-functional teams across different regions.

A technology and finance enthusiast, David holds an MBA from INSEAD, a Master’s in Telecommunications Engineering from UPM ETSIT Madrid and TU-Berlin, and has completed advanced studies in technology and finance at Berkeley (Haas), Instituto de Empresa, Singularity University, and Oxford.
