Rajesh Kannan is the Head of Wealth and Retail Banking, UAE, International Banking EMEA, Jersey (UK) and Head of Global Indian Clients at Standard Chartered.
With three decades of experience in the financial services sector, Kannan brings a wealth of knowledge in retail banking and wealth management particularly in the affluent client segments. His expertise spans a broad-spectrum including business strategy, marketing, retail and wealth solutions, sales and distribution, international banking and digital transformation.
His previous role at Standard Chartered, based out of Singapore, involved heading the Global Affluent Segments, where he was instrumental in shaping the client continuum strategy and driving business growth across markets in Asia. In the new role, Kannan will be instrumental in driving Standard Chartered’s growth agenda and international wealth offerings across the UAE, Jersey (UK) and the EMEA region. He is also responsible for leading the bank’s global strategy and offerings for the Global Indian affluent client segment.
A passionate advocate for client value, innovation, and collaboration, Kannan is committed to fostering a culture of continuous learning and development. Recently, he completed the Advanced Management Program at INSEAD, one of the world’s premier business schools.
Outside of his professional achievements, Kannan is an avid music enthusiast trainer percussion artist, tennis player, cyclist, and yoga practitioner.
