Circa Biotech upcycles food waste into sustainable aviation fuel using industrial insect farming.
Circa Biotech has developed a highly sustainable process and a commercially viable solution to locally produce a highly nutritious animal feed and sustainable aviation fuel using beneficial insects reared on food waste. From the current 15 tons per day processing capacity, it is planning to scale up to process 200 tons of food waste daily in three years. That, in turn, will allow the company to produce 22,000 tons of animal feed annually, 12,100 tons of sustainable aviation fuel, and reduce 3,500 tons of methane emissions.
