Dubai’s Events Calendar One of the Busiest Worldwide, Officials Say

Dubai’s year-round events lineup has become one of the busiest globally, supporting economic growth and strengthening long-term resilience, tourism officials have said.

Speaking at the first quarterly partner meeting of 2026 at Dubai Opera, officials from the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism said lessons from the 2008 global financial crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic have been integrated into daily operations, improving coordination with the private sector and enabling faster response during disruptions.

Issam Kazim, CEO of the Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing, reaffirmed the emirate’s commitment to the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), describing it as a long-term strategy focused on sustainable growth and diversification across sectors to position Dubai as a global destination for tourism, business, and investment.

He outlined four core tourism objectives: increasing visitor arrivals, extending average stays, boosting spending and encouraging repeat visits. Kazim added that global connectivity via Emirates and flydubai is central to the strategy.

Kazim also pointed to previous government support of AED1 billion, later expanded to AED2.5 billion, which helped key sectors including retail, hospitality, SMEs, and events.

Meanhwile, Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, said Dubai’s events calendar will remain active through the summer months, supported by a campaign launching July 2 that will feature retail promotions and hospitality offers across the emirate.

He added that a 12-week retail incentive will allow shoppers spending at least AED500 to enter weekly draws for residential property prizes in Dubai.

Major cultural and entertainment venues and events, including the Dubai World Cup, Art Dubai, and the Coca-Cola Arena, were cited as examples of sustained activity, alongside delivery platforms such as Talabat, Noon, and Kita.
