The agreement strengthens trusted AI partnerships, supply chains, and innovation as the UAE expands its global role in artificial intelligence.

The UAE has formally joined Pax Silica, a US-led initiative focused on strengthening innovation and supply chains amid rising global demand for AI-driven technologies.

The agreement was signed in Abu Dhabi by UAE Minister of State Saeed Al Hajeri and US Undersecretary of State for Economic Affairs Jacob Helberg.

Pax Silica aims to bring together trusted partner countries to support reliable supply chains, develop secure AI systems, and unlock new economic opportunities linked to the growth of artificial intelligence.

Previously, the UAE partnered with the US to develop the Stargate AI campus with five gigawatts of capacity for AI data centres in Abu Dhabi.

It has also developed language models such as Falcon Arabic, aimed at strengthening Arabic language representation in artificial intelligence. It also established Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence in 2019, and was among the first countries in the world to appoint an AI minister, Omar Al Olama, Minister of State for AI, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, in 2017.
