Global tech giant Amazon has announced the launch of the Amazon Youth Council (AYC) in collaboration with the UAE’s Federal Youth Authority, reinforcing its commitment to supporting the UAE’s national priorities around youth empowerment and talent development. The initiative is expected to bolster Amazon’s commitment to invest in the next generation of Emirati leaders.
Launched on International Youth Day (August 12, 2026), the AYC brings together young Emirati professionals from across Amazon and AWS in the UAE. It aims to foster cultural learning, creating meaningful space for young voices, while delivering broader community impact through youth-driven campaigns, strategic partnerships, and events. It will simultaneously also lead internal cultural integration initiatives that celebrate Emirati identity, values, and customs, helping Amazon employees develop a deeper appreciation and understanding of the local culture.
The programs offered by the AYC will also connect Emirati youth within and outside Amazon with mentorship opportunities and Amazon’s global innovation network through technology training, skill-building workshops, and knowledge-sharing seminars.
“At Amazon, we believe in the power of continuous learning and curiosity to unlock potential, and the Amazon Youth Council brings that spirit to the next generation of Emirati talent,” said Ronaldo Mouchawar, VP Amazon Middle East, Africa and Turkey. “The Amazon Youth Council reflects our commitment to empowering Emirati youth through learning, innovation, and meaningful career development opportunities, while celebrating the culture and values that make the UAE unique. Together with the Federal Youth Authority, we look forward to creating lasting impact for the next generation of leaders, innovators, and changemakers.”

For his part, Jassim Al Obaidli, Director of Youth Interaction Department and Head of the Youth Councils Network at the UAE Federal Youth Authority, added: “The launch of the Amazon Youth Council represents the power of meaningful collaboration between the public and private sectors in creating opportunities for young people. By combining Amazon’s global expertise with our shared commitment to youth empowerment, we are equipping Emirati youth with the skills, experiences and confidence they need to shape the future and contribute to the UAE’s continued growth and success.”
Since its formation a few weeks ago, the Amazon Youth Council has brought several initiatives to life, including a Youth Day activation at Amazon’s Dubai office that connected Emirati entrepreneurs and homegrown brands directly with employees. The event featured interactive “Youth Hub” experiences, including an entrepreneur showcase, a business and innovation competition, and booths highlighting culture, wellness, sustainability, and AI. Hundreds of Amazon employees engaged with Emirati-owned businesses through technology demonstrations, AI and innovation workshops, a Shark Tank-style competition, health and wellbeing sessions, eco-friendly product displays, and traditional Emirati food and beverages.
