US wearable health tech company WHOOP has secured US$575 million in Series G funding, with backing from major sovereign investors including Mubadala Investment Company and Qatar Investment Authority, as it accelerates expansion into the GCC.

The round, led by Collaborative Fund, values the company at US$10.1 billion and also includes participation from 2PointZero Group.

Other global investors included Abbott, the Mayo Clinic, Macquarie Capital, Glade Brook, B-Flexion, IVP, Foundry, Accomplice, Affinity Partners and Bullhound Capital, along with individual investors.

Individual investors included Cristiano Ronaldo, Karen Wazen, LeBron James, Rory McIlroy, Reggie Miller, Niall Horan, Virgil van Dijk, and Shane Lowry.

The company is set to open WHOOP Labs Doha in the coming months, its first international performance research and development facility. 

WHOOP is also rolling out a series of initiatives in the UAE and Qatar to boost adoption and strengthen its regional presence.

We’re building real momentum on the ground, expanding our local teams and growing our retail footprint in multiple markets.”
