The Finance Frontier 2026: Rahul Malhotra, Region Head Emerging Markets, Bank Julius Baer

Rahul Malhotra is Region Head Emerging Markets and Member of the Global Wealth Management Committee (GWMC) at Bank Julius Baer based out of Dubai, UAE. In this role, Rahul is responsible for expanding Julius Baer’s business presence and client base across five markets, including India Onshore, Global Non-Resident Indians (GNRI), Middle East and Africa, Central and Eastern Europe and Israel, Greece and Cyprus, Turkey.

Under his leadership, Region Emerging Markets has embarked on an ambitious expansion strategy in core countries.

Rahul brings over 35 years of extensive experience in financial services and is deeply familiar with the evolving needs of clients in his region.

Before taking on additional responsibilities for Region Emerging Markets in January 2024, Rahul led the Global India and Japan business for the Bank.

Prior to joining Julius Baer, Rahul was Head of Southeast Asia and previously Head of South Asia at J.P. Morgan Private Bank for 11 years, where he supported clients in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Australia and NRIs across regions. Most recently, he was responsible for special projects of the International private bank of J.P. Morgan.

Before that, he was Head of Wealth Management for Asia at Merrill Lynch and successfully built the Global India business. Earlier in his career, Rahul spent 20 years at Citibank, where he was based in India, the UAE, the UK, and Singapore.

Passionate about philanthropy, Rahul is also a member of the Julius Baer Foundation and works closely with colleagues globally on education and wealth inequality initiatives.
