e& UAE, the telecommunications arm of technology group e&, and Ankabut, the UAE’s national research and education network, have renewed their partnership to expand digital infrastructure supporting universities and research institutions across the country.
The next phase of the agreement will increase capacity for artificial intelligence (AI) workloads, high-performance computing, cloud connectivity, advanced research and collaboration with international research networks.
Under the partnership, e& UAE and Ankabut will develop a dedicated private education network designed to provide academic institutions with high-capacity connectivity for applications including AI model training, deep learning inference and data modeling.
The infrastructure will also connect campuses directly with local AI hyperscalers and large-scale cloud environments.

The agreement will also expand connectivity between UAE academic institutions and international research and education networks through Ankabut’s National Research and Education Network (NREN).
The network provides dedicated connectivity among UAE education and research institutions while linking them with global research partners and UAE-based cloud service providers.
