As part of its Business Connect initiative, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in partnership with Entrepreneur Middle East, has been staging Ask The Expert, a social media series that sees industry experts from Dubai’s business sector answer questions from the public on a variety of subjects.

In this edition of Ask The Expert, we have Dr. Kamel Mellahi, Senior Manager at Dubai Chamber’s Centre for Responsible Business, highlighting how corporate social responsibility is becoming an increasingly important topic for companies around the world, while sharing how enterprises in Dubai can incorporate such practices into their day-to-day businesses.

“Now, more than ever, the business community is expected to step up its CSR and sustainability agenda,” Dr. Mellahi explained. “And this is going to go to be even more important as the global and local drive for green sustainable economy, a circular economy, is going to accelerate. And for this reason, Dubai Chamber has been putting a lot of emphasis on helping the business community develop its capability on sustainability and CSR, and be a leading example around the world.”
