As Founder and Chairman, Firoz Merchant established the Pure Gold Group in 1989, transforming a modest jewellery shop in Dubai’s Deira district into a prominent multinational conglomerate. Today, the Group operates more than 170 outlets across the UAE and key international markets.
Originally from Mumbai, India, Merchant began his entrepreneurial journey after leaving school at a young age. At 22, during a honeymoon visit to Dubai’s Gold Souq, he discovered his passion for the jewellery trade—an experience that would shape his future and lay the foundation for his business empire.
Under Merchant’s leadership, Pure Gold Group has grown into a multi-million-dollar enterprise renowned for its diverse product portfolio, ranging from luxury to affordable jewellery. His strategic vision and emphasis on innovation and customer service transformed the company from a single-store operation into a leading regional retailer.
