The Startup Pitch Competition returned this week at Make it in the Emirates 2026, drawing entrepreneurs from the UAE and abroad to showcase emerging industrial technologies in front of investors and industry leaders. The contest was organized by the UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, and was open to both international and local startups.

AC3D, a US-based developer of vertically integrated construction 3D printing technology; Electrogenos Magan Ltd, a UK-based green hydrogen technology company; and Waverity, an Azerbaijan-based AI-driven tech company specializing in subsurface imaging solutions, were named winners on May 6, 2026.

The competition welcomed startups working in five priority sectors: electric mobility and batteries, autonomous systems and drones, industrial robotics, digital twins and smart manufacturing, and industrial cybersecurity.

Participants competed for cash prizes, mentorship opportunities and direct access to investors. Entries were judged based on innovation, scalability, sustainability, market potential, competitiveness and national impact.

The competition is open to startups at Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) 3 to 9, a NASA-developed scale used to measure the maturity of technologies.

The Startup Pitch Competition supports the UAE’s efforts to accelerate industrial development and scale market-ready technologies under the National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology.
