Cameo Communications, a pay-for-results Dubai-based public relations agency, has launched a beta version of CoverageIQ, a platform that measures the performance and business impact of press coverage.
The platform is designed for startup founders and marketing teams, allowing users to upload the URL of a published article to generate performance data such as estimated readership, referral traffic to company websites, and AI search citations.
Where data is available, ConvergeIQ can also link business outcomes such as demo bookings and app downloads back to specific media placements to identify which publications are driving activity.
“PR has always been the hardest marketing channel to justify. Clients would ask us what their coverage was worth, and the honest answer was that nobody really knew. CoverageIQ changes that,” says Lara Geadah, founder of Cameo Communications.
However, Geadah emphasized that CoverageIQ provides visibility into earned media outcomes but is not meant to reduce PR performance to a single commercial metric.
“Not every PR campaign is designed to drive sales, and not every media placement should be judged by revenue alone,” Geadah said. “PR plays a critical role in building awareness, credibility and trust. Our goal with CoverageIQ is to bring greater accountability to the industry by helping brands better understand the outcomes of their coverage. When a campaign has a commercial objective attached to it, companies should be able to see how earned media contributes to that goal. And when the objective is reputation or visibility, they should be able to measure that too.”
The platform is currently in a limited invitation-only beta phase for startups and marketing teams in the MENA region, with priority given to companies in technology, fintech, healthtech and consumer sectors.
Users can register for access via CoverageIQ beta waitlist. The company said it plans to expand access after validating the platform during the beta phase and later introduce a white-label version for agencies.
