Mubadala Backs WHOOP Expansion in UAE With US$75 Million Investment

WHOOP, a US-based wearable health tech company, and Mubadala Investment Company, an Abu Dhabi-based sovereign investor, have announced a strategic partnership to advance proactive health, performance science, and preventive health care innovation in the UAE, backed by Mubadala’s US$75 million investment.

The agreement was announced during the Make it in the Emirates Forum 2026 in Abu Dhabi.

“Attracting leading global companies to establish and grow in Abu Dhabi is central to how we build future-focused sectors and strengthen the UAE’s economic competitiveness,” Ali Eid AlMheiri, Executive Director of Diversified Assets, UAE Investments Platform at Mubadala, said. “Through our partnership with WHOOP, we are bringing advanced health technology, research capabilities, and international expertise into the local ecosystem.”

As part of the partnership, WHOOP will establish an office in the UAE, expand its Advanced Labs offerings, and introduce full Arabic localization across its digital platform.

According to WHOOP, the UAE will become its first international market to offer the full U.S. biomarker testing experience through its Advanced Labs expansion, supporting broader preventive health programs and precision diagnostics.

The company will also launch the WHOOP-Mubadala Health Research Initiative, which will involve collaboration with UAE institutions to conduct long-term studies focused on cardiovascular health, sleep, recovery and behavioral performance.
