The Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SPARK) has signed a strategic partnership with MunichTech EXPO, a European organiser of technology, innovation, artificial intelligence, and future-tech events.

The collaboration aims to strengthen ties between innovation ecosystems in the UAE and Europe while creating opportunities for startups, technology investment, and international research cooperation.

The move aligns with SPARK’s efforts to position Sharjah as a global hub for innovation, scientific research, and advanced technologies through partnerships with international organisations focused on the digital economy and emerging technologies.

Hussain Al Mahmoudi, CEO of SPARK, said the partnership supports the park’s strategy of expanding its international footprint and connecting startups with new markets and investment opportunities while strengthening the knowledge economy.

Professor Dr. Ahmed Abada, Founder and President of MunichTech EXPO, said the collaboration marks an important step in building stronger links between Europe and the UAE across innovation and advanced technology sectors.

Under the agreement, the two organisations will develop programmes to support startups and entrepreneurs, facilitate connections between investors, academic institutions, and technology companies, and expand cooperation in areas including artificial intelligence, deep tech, digital transformation, and industrial innovation.

The partnership also includes SPARK’s participation in MunichTech EXPO exhibitions and conferences in Munich, where it will showcase startups and technology initiatives from its ecosystem, including the SPARK Center for Artificial Intelligence.

The collaboration is expected to strengthen the international visibility of Sharjah’s innovation ecosystem and create new opportunities for economic and knowledge-based cooperation in support of the UAE’s knowledge economy ambitions.
