MoHRE Announces Eid Al Adha Holiday for Private Sector from May 26-29

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has officially announced a four-day paid holiday for private sector employees in observance of Arafat Day and Eid Al Adha.

In a social media post, the ministry confirmed that the break will run from May 26-29, 2026.

The announcement follows the sighting of the crescent moon on the evening of May 17, marking the start of Dhu Al Hijjah, the final month in the Islamic lunar calendar, on May 18.

This year, Arafat Day will be observed on May 26 while Eid Al Adha, which falls on the 10th day of Dhu Al Hijjah, will be celebrated on May 27.

The holiday could extend to a six-day break when combined with the weekend, lasting until May 31.

Meanwhile, the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources had earlier announced that federal government employees will receive a five-day holiday from May 25 to 29.
