Saudi Arabia’s CEER Launches First Electric Vehicles

The Saudi automotive company has unveiled its first locally designed and engineered vehicles.

H.R.H. Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Prime Minister and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), has announced the launch of EXOBOT, the first electric vehicle line from CEER, the country’s national automotive company.

The initial lineup includes sedan and SUV models designed and engineered in Saudi Arabia. The company will manufacture the vehicles at the CEER Manufacturing Complex, the largest automotive production facility in the Middle East.

“The launch of CEER’s first vehicles represents another step forward in Saudi Arabia’s progression to build a sustainable and prosperous industrial ecosystem. It further enables the automotive sector as a key driver of economic growth, through attracting investments, empowering national talent, and expanding the private sector’s role to further position Saudi Arabia to become a leading regional and global hub for this industry,” Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman said.

The EXOBOT sedan and SUV are part of a planned portfolio of seven models that CEER expects to introduce over the next five years. The lineup will include midsize and compact vehicles with different propulsion options.

By 2034, CEER is projected to contribute more than SAR30 billion, or about US$8 billion, to Saudi Arabia’s gross domestic product and more than SAR80 billion, or US$21 billion, to the country’s trade balance. The company is also expected to create direct and indirect jobs.

PIF launched CEER in 2022 as Saudi Arabia’s first domestic vehicle brand. The company forms part of PIF’s plans to develop a local automotive industry and diversify the Saudi economy under Vision 2030.
