Dubai is targeting more than AED35 billion (US$9.53 billion) in economic contribution from its longevity sector over the next decade. The emirate is building out an ecosystem spanning research, clinical development, advanced therapies, manufacturing and investment.

The target forms part of the newly approved strategy of the Dubai Longevity Authority (DLA), which aims for annual sector growth of approximately 31%.

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, approved the strategy and budget after chairing the authority’s first meeting.

Established in June 2026, the DLA has been tasked with developing Dubai into an international hub for healthy longevity, with a focus on extending the number of years people live in good health while reducing the impact of chronic disease and cognitive decline.

The authority’s mandate includes developing regulation for advanced therapies and preventive healthcare, supporting clinical innovation and establishing frameworks for responsible research and experimentation.

Its strategy will also seek to attract international expertise and investment, support high-potential companies operating in the sector, and connect research and clinical development with manufacturing and international markets.

“We approved the Dubai Longevity Authority’s strategy, marking a new phase in Dubai’s ambition to shape the future of health and become a global center for healthy longevity, spanning research and development, clinical trials, manufacturing and global markets,” Sheikh Hamdan said on X.

The initiative adds to the UAE’s broader push into longevity and precision medicine. Abu Dhabi’s Department of Health also announced a declaration in 2025 aimed at advancing precision medicine and longevity science.
